Kurt will feature a new and expanded lineup of advanced workholding products for improved machining productivity at IMTS 2014, McCormick Place, West Hall Booth 2423.
The All-New Kurt Cobra Dovetail Vise Ideal For Aggressive 5 Axis Machining
Kurt’s new Cobra Vise is a 5 axis dovetail vise that provides up to 4000 lbs of precision clamping force without distorting workpiece. The Cobra’s unique, one-half inch movable jaw stroke allows precise raw stock clamping with less material prep for fast positioning in the vise jaws. It is 2 inches wide and handles part widths from 1.375 to 1.800 inches.
Designed to dampen part vibration for high speed, complex, small part precision machining, the Cobra Vise is ideal for aggressive 5 axis machining. Made from 4140 alloy steel, the Kurt Cobra has high fatigue and torsional strength with high abrasion and impact resistance.
The All-New Kurt Chameleon Vise Ideal For Small Machines
Kurt’s new Chameleon Vise is designed for tool room, knee mill applications and use on smaller CNC machining tables. With up to 5000 lbs. of precision clamping force, the Chameleon with its special design features gives the machinist more clamping options than previous standard vises.
The Chameleon Vise is 3.5 inches wide with a 4-inch jaw opening. Mounts easily upright and on both sides. It features predrilled sine holes for use with a receiver vise to achieve 30º, 45º and 60º angle settings. With extra thick sidewalls to prevent bending and improve vise precision, the Chameleon Vise has Kurt’s AngLock design to prevent jaw lift.
Kurt’s New Sidewinder SDW35 Vise -- Fits 6 AND 8 Inch Vises
Kurt’s new Sidewinder SDW35 Vise is 3.5” wide and designed for mounting to the back of 6-inch AND 8-inch single station vises. It has an increased 4-inch wide jaw opening, with up to 5000lbs of clamping force, and provides vertical workholding for second operation machining in the same setup.
The original SDW25 Sidewinder vise is designed for 6-inch vises only and has been re-designed for increased performance at a lower manufacturing cost.
The re-designed Sidewinder Vise provides up to 2,450 lbs. of clamping force. Both models reduce setup time for second operation vertical machining when integrated with existing machine tools and existing vises. Both models have robust 80,000-PSI ductile iron bodies and feature the original Kurt Anglock design for decreasing jaw deflection.
Kurt Expands The VersatileLock Vise Family With Four New 3800 Series Vises
Kurt’s VersatileLock Vises feature a one-piece body and stationary jaw design. They provide precise 0.0005 inch part clamping repeatability. Now, this popular Kurt VersatileLock Vise model is available in four 8-inch vise models that have a 10-inch jaw opening. The new models are: Manual Standard, Manual Reverse, Hydraulic Standard, Hydraulic Reverse. These new 3800 series vises replace Kurt’s PT Vise series.
Considered the industry’s ultimate single station CNC vise, Kurt’s VersatileLock vises integrate Kurt’s proven AngLock feature with the pull-type clamping design. Together, these features reduce stationary jaw deflection by as much as 80 percent. The one-piece body and stationary jaw provide greater strength while reducing weight.
