Featured at IMTS 2014: Kiwa Horizontal Machining Centers
Methods Machine Tools will present new Kiwa horizontal machining centers at the show.
The KMH series has pallet sizes from 300 to 1,250 mm; the KMH-300 is a direct-drive, 30-taper, 15,000- RPM, 300-mm dual-pallet machine; and the KMH-630B is 50-taper, 10,000-RPM, 630-mm dual-pallet changer model.
The KMH-300 and KMH-630 machines have an integrated, rotary B axis and a FANUC 0i-MD control with a 15-in. LCD screen. A spindle oil cooling system and coolantthrough ball screws are standard.
The KMH-300 has a footprint of 140 by 107 in., including the chip conveyor. Travels are 18.1 in. for the X and Y axes and 13.7 in. for the Z axis.
The KMH-630 has a footprint of 235 by 137 in., including the chip conveyor. Travels are 39.7 in. (X), 33.4 in. (Y), and 37.4 in. (Z).
