TRU TEMP 2nd GEN mid-temperature black oxide from Birchwood Technologies is a re-engineered finish based on the original Tru Temp XL. The new black oxide finishes a wider variety of ferrous metals, including iron, steel, tool steels, and most stainless steels, and generates a darker, cleaner finish.
The magnetite finish is nondimensional at 1 micron thick and suitable for machined components, nonmachined components, powdered metals, MIM parts, tooling, gears, and sucker rods. It operates at temperatures from 200 to 210 degrees F and contains no EPA-regulated metals.
