Weldcote, a division of Zika Group, has announced its Supremeview True-Color welding helmet, a digital autodarkening helmet with high-definition filter optics. It features an optical clarity classification of 1/1/1/1 in its LCD viewing area of 16.3 sq. in. The fully automatic adaptive shade control sets the right shade number between 7 and 13. Without removing the helmet, the user can change shades in increments of 0.1 and also change the grind mode.
The black matte welding helmets have a 0.04-ms switching time from light to dark. Made of a high-impact-resistant nylon and weighing 1.3 lbs., the helmet is powered by a solar cell and two replaceable 3-V lithium backup batteries.
